Monday is the frst day of Summer 2010, and Cape Cod is geared up and ready to welcome you for 2010 Summer Fun! All of your favorite restaurants are open as are the usual huge range of activities. Here at the inn our gardens are really spectacular this year. The great spring provided them with a good balance of sun and water and warmth, so most of our plants are blooming on schedule or just a bit ahead. It means some amazing colors are waiting to greet you.

This spring Marie has been using her spare time (spare time??!!) to delve into Face Book. She has been doing entries every few days. It all started when she realized it was a great way to reach out to the many people who, over the years, have asked us repeatedly what's involved in running an inn. Marie's entries include many of our day to day activities. She is also dropping in a few "secret" recipes. YOGA ON THE LABYRINTH

Allen Harbor Breeze Inn & Gardens will be the beautiful setting for an outdoor
Yoga session each Satruday this July and August. Classes will be led by
Katherine Trainor, M.Ed.

A RECIPE FROM THE ALLEN HARBOR BREEZE
INN & GARDEN'S KITCHEN :

RED WHITE & BLUE
CRAN-BLUEBERRY MUFFINS

In a small bowl mix together 1 cup blueberries and 1/3 cup chopped cranberries with 1/4 cup sugar.

In a medium bowl whisk together 1 egg, 1 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 stick melted margarine, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of almond extract.

In a large bowl mix together 2 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, and 4 teaspoons of baking powder.

Blend wet ingredients into dry. Stir in cranberry-blueberry-sugar mix just until ingredients are blended, do not over mix. Spoon batter into muffin cups lined with papers. Sprinkle tops of muffins with sugar if you wish. Bake at 425 for 20 - 30 minutes. Makes 12 large muffins.

Plan ahead: muffin batter can be frozen in muffin cups. Once frozen pop out of pan and place in a zip lock bag. These will keep for up to 3 months. When ready to use place back into muffin tin and bake at 425 degrees for 35 minutes.
